Pre-Parade Checklist
Pertaining to Uniform:
- Remember to bring all components of your uniform.
- Guides with long hair are expected to bun their hair and tuck all loose strands of hair away neatly with hair clips or bobby pins.
- Guides with short hair (definition of short being: hair length falling above the collar) are expected to use a hairnet and ensure that no loose strands spill out.
- Those with spectacles, please remember your spectacle hooks.
- Iron the folds on the scarf well so it is easier to tie later.
- Sew on all official badges and epaulettes correctly (refer to the GGS website if needed).
- Ensure your socks are of appropriate colour and length.
- Polish your boots.
- Colour Party and FCs are to bring their gloves.
Pertaining to Drills:
- Follow Kaye's timing only.
- Jerk your arms up to 90° swiftly as a squad to ensure arm coordination.
- Do not move towards the left when marching, especially when nearing impeding.
- Impede at the appropriate time.
- Sing National Anthem, say pledge and recite the promise with pride.
- Do not fidget and sway.
- Lock your arms.
- Do not react before/too late after the command.
- Look up; lock your eyes on a point and refrain from darting your eyes.
Pertaining to Reporting:
- Guides are to assemble at Canteen Area at 0630 in full uniform.
- Please inform the FCs if you are going to be late/absent.
- Bring along your school uniform (hongzi and school shoes).
- Change out of uniform during the first recess because no LOA is given.
