World Thinking Day Celebrations 2014

Hello Guides! Happy New Year!

World Thinking Day is approaching and the theme for this year's World Thinking Day is Education opens doors for all girls”.

To create greater awareness of and to promote GGS’ theme for 2014, units are invited to participate in the following competitions:

- Vlog: Submit a 5 min Vlog on how Girl Guides Singapore can achieve WAGGGS’ Vision 2020. WAGGGS’ Vision 2020 – “All girls and young women are valued and take action to change the world”. Upload to your Facebook or instagram with #GGSWTD2014C1'.

- Poster Design: Submit a 2-dimensional (laminated) A3 poster which shows that your pack or company has demonstrated thrift.

- Animation: As a pack or company, create an online interactive activity on innovative ideas or suggestions on “Water Conservation” or “Water Education”. Upload onto the internet, create a link and submit the link before the closing date.

- Band: As a pack or company, form a band and perform a selected song that is relevant to Guiding. Record and upload the performance on YouTube and submit the link before the closing date.

- Blog: Set up and maintain a Blog that promotes International Friendship. By January 2014, the blog should include at least 2 photographs, 2 videos and 5 posts.  The blog must be kept active for 2014.

A maximum of 3 entries/coy can be submitted for each type of competition. 

There will be a Competition Preparation Session on 7th January 2014 for all Sec 2s - 4s regarding Thinking Day Celebrations 2014.

·         Guides will be dismissed at 11.30 to prepare for CCA Exhibition
·         Guides in Publicity Committee are reminded to braid their hair.

·         No screaming/shouting
·         No defamation of other CCAs
·         No forced dragging of Secondary 1 students to CCA booths

  • Guides are to bring necessary materials for their committee (Outdoor Cooking can use twigs in the Guides Store due to rainy weather.)
  • Guides in Publicity do not have to attend this session, and are reminded to finish making the souvenirs at home.

We need all of your CIP records (excluding School CIP) that you all have done this year to fill up our PNA form!

Guidelines:
  1. The service must be at least 30 hours (including planning, preparation and training).
