• Sec 2s - 4s please revise your orienteering and topography skills
• Sec 1s, try to learn as much as possible about orienteering and topography through your NYGG booklet and Guide handbook.
• As tomorrow is Eat With Your Family Day, CCA will end at around 5pm so please inform your parents.

Boots collection, 25th May 2012

Hi all!
This announcement is only for the Sec 1s.
Please be at the auditorium foyer by 2.30pm this Friday, 25th May, to collect your boots.
As we have mentioned earlier, each pair of boots costs $26, so please bring the exact amount this Friday.

A relay SMS has been sent out by your PLs so do remember to report on time and also remind your batch mates if you see them.

Hi all!

The FC Selection results are out!
Congratulations to those who have been chosen to be the new footdrill commanders for year 2013, we believe that the five of you will be able to bring NYGG to greater heights!
For those who have not been selected, do not be disheartened if you have tried your best! Every single one of you is important in the squad and company, and your FCs will definitely need your encouragement and support! :)

Testworks - Housekeeping

Dear Guides,


The following Testworks are only mandatory for Sec 3s and Sec 4s (who have not passed) this time. However, Sec 1s and Sec 2s are also welcome to take them. (: Those who have obtained the Homemaker's badge need not complete these testworks. These are to be completed within the June holidays.

1.3 Housekeeping


Requirements:

1. Helped with prep and cooking of one meal (lunch/dinner)

2. Learnt how to use washing machine/handwash a pail of clothes

3. Ironed school uniform for a week

4. Vacuumed/mopped the floor once

5. Helped to fold/keep clothes once

OR

Pass homemaker’s badge 

Details
There will be a form which you are required to fill in. The softcopy of the form will be sent to the various PLs who will foward it to their patrols. Please fill in the form according to the requirements and get your parents' signature to verify your work.

Boots measurements, 21st May 2012

Hi Guides,

This announcement is for the Sec 1s.
Please report outside the auditorium on Monday, 21st May at 7.20am for measurement of your boots.
The cost for each boots is $26. You are not required to bring this amount next Monday, but you will have to pay when the boots supplier delivers the boots.

Please report on time and remind your other batchmates in case they forget!

Sec 3s: Full guide uniform with hat, spec hooks, bun/hair net, ironed scarf, belt, buckle, whistle, white socks and polished boots. Remember no watches or ear studs are to be worn with the uniform.
Sec 4s: Guide blue tee with school shorts or dark blue/black FBTs


Things to note:

• For those doing footdrill, plese revise all the commands you have learnt and opening squad. Also rest well the night before and bring along a water bottle
• For the sec 3s, a more detailed timeframe will we given to you regarding your FC selection
• Sec 3s also remember to bring your own marking rubrics for FC selection
• Sec 4s, the testwork topics are as follows:
• Flag etiquette (theory)
• Thrift (theory)
  May be used for WAGGGS Practical if everyone has completed thrift theory
• World conference, committee, bureau
• World centres (theory)
• WAGGGS (theory)

Sec 3s, please be reminded that you have footdrill practice tomorrow in preparation for FC selection.

Time: 3.30 to 5.30
Venue: Quadrangle. Report in the canteen area for attendance taking.
Attire: NYGH PE shirt with school skirt and polished boots. Also wear your guide hat, spec hooks, hair/bun net and white socks.

Other things to take note:
1. Revise your commands and opening squad procedures
2. Bring your water bottle with you
3. Rest well tonight

Refreshment Helpers for CSM on 11 May, Fri

Dear all sec 2s and 3s,
I thought the mass message would be enough but here is a blog post as well, thanks to Nicole who asked (next time ask earlier! I would be glad to clarify your questions.)

1. Report to HCI track latest by 7.15am in full guide uniform and hair neatly tied/pinned up. We do not want you to serve VIPs with messy hair. It's CSM, not Haunted House.

2. We will be serving drinks to teachers from both NYGH and HCI and student helpers. Please bring drinks over to the pool side also.

3. After the event, stay back  for about 15minutes to help clear up.

Hi all,

This announcement is for the Sec 2s.
Please collect your LTC consent forms from Hannah on Tuesday, 2.30pm at 413 classroom.
Consent forms are to be signed and returned to Hannah by Thursday.
If you are unable to make it for LTC, do attach a parent's/teacher's letter at the back of the consent form to explain why you will not be able to make it.
Remind your batchmates to hand up their consent forms on time so that we do not have to chase you all for it!
