Appeal for Donation of Food Items

CCA CIP, 4th April 2009 -- Food Collection Drive

The food collection drive is organised by the Bukit Timah Youth Executive Committee of Bukit Timah Community Club, together with the charity organization "Food from the Heart".

The objective of the food collection is to collect food items and then distribute them to needy families. Needy families include those with single mothers(widowed or divorced), children whose parents are imprisoned or are overcoming drug addiction, and elderly with little or no family support. It is difficult for them to get basic necessities such as food, particularly in times of recession. Hence, the food collection will be able to provide them with the food items that they need.

To all those coming down for CIP on that day,

Please do bring food items (if you have them) to donate when you come down on that day. The food items must be non-perishable, meaning that they must be packaged and uncooked. Examples are staple food such as rice, canned food, powdered food (Milo, milk, etc. Can be in packets or tins), cooking oil (or other bottled food, preferably unopened), dried foodstuffs, etc. Do try to donate foodstuffs that are unopened, especially bottled food.

Also, please ensure that the food items you are donating are at least 3 months before the expiry date.

Only food items will be accepted, please do not donate other items like cash, toys, clothes, newspapers, etc.

It is NOT COMPULSORY to donate, but your contribution would certainly be appreciated. Your donation does not have to be very big, it's the effort that counts. :)

For those who wish to donate but are not going for the CIP, you can drop by Bukit Timah CC anytime between 10.30am to 4pm on 4th April and donate your food items. There is a walk-in collection point at the CC. Alternatively, you could get your friends to help you bring the items down.

Thank you!

The Sec 2s will be in-charge of planning and allocating manpower for this patrol competition.

Recycled materials used

Please remember to greet ma’ams and try to show them anything creative you have specially added to get higher marks!

Practicality of gadget and adherence to theme (20 m)
Creativity (20 m)
