Shown below is the enrolment ceremony procedure. Please familiarise yourself with it. You may refer to the guide handbook for details about the horseshoe formation.

Ceremony Procedure

Guides will first form a horse-shoe formation, following commands given by the CLs. PLs and the incoming guides of 3 patrols will then be called to fall out each time. The guides will march together until they are in front of the flag pole. PLs will then fall out and introduce the new guides to the Guiders. Incoming guides will then say their honour, promise and receive the trefoil from the Guiders. After the new guides salute colours, the company will salute the new guides and the new guides will return the salute. Everyone will then return to their original positions and guides from the next 3 patrols will be called to fall out.

Following this are the commands for the ceremony:

CLs:

Company, attention.

Guides sedia themselves.

CLs:

By patrols, left wheel, quick march.

Footdrill commanders will give timing and the PL of the first patrol will lead her patrol off, single file, to the left, followed by the second patrol, third patrol and so on. While waiting for the patrols to march off, the rest of the company will hentak. Guides will march to form a horseshoe formation.

CLs:

Centre march.

Once the PL of the first patrol is in front of the flagpole, she will lead the patrols straight down, away from the flagpole until she reaches the spot where the back of the horseshoe is to be (marked by masking tape).

CLs:

Alternate patrols, right and left march.

This command will be given when the PL of the first patrol reaches the spot where the back of the horseshoe is. She will then march to the right, with her patrol following her. The next patrol leader and patrol will march to the left, followed by the third patrol marching to the right and so on. The patrols will march to form a horseshoe formation. Guides are to hentak while their positions are being adjusted.

CLs:

Company, halt.

This command will be given only after the shape of the horseshoe is satisfactory. Guides will then stop hentaking.

CLs:

Company, inward turn.

The company will turn to face the flagpole, with FCs giving the timing.

CLs:

Colour party, fall out.

Colour party takes a step back and turns right. The last person will start marching, followed by the next etc. They will march along the horseshoe formation to the front of the flagpole.

Last person in row:

Colour party, halt.

Colour party, right turn.

Colour party will turn right to face the World Flag. The person in the centre will take a step forward to raise the World flag, after which she will take a step back to her original position.

Centre person:

Check up, check down.

Here, the colour party salutes colours.

CLs:

Company salute colours.

The company salutes colours. Incoming guides will not salute colours as they are not officially enrolled yet, thus they will remain standing at their positions.

CLs:

Colour party, back to original positions, quick march.

Colour party marches back to original positions. The first guide in the row will give timing.

CLs:

Incoming guides from ________, ________ and ________ patrol, fall out.

Incoming guides and their PL will take a step back and turn to the right. Starting from the rightmost guide, they will march along the horseshoe formation until they are in front of the flagpole. Guides will then hentak.

Last PL:

Patrols, halt.

CLs:

Patrols, right turn.

Patrols will turn to the right to face the flagpole. The last PL in the row will give the timing. After that, PLs will fall out to introduce the incoming guides to the Guiders. They will stand at a side after the introduction, for the Guiders to enroll the incoming guides.

Guider:

Do you know what your Honour means?

Incoming guides:

My honour means that I can be trusted to be truthful and honest.

Guider:

Can I trust you on your honour to do your best: To do your duty to God, To serve your country and help other people, and to keep the Guide Law.

Incoming guides:

(Recite promise) After the incoming guides recite their promise, the guider will pin the trefoil on the Guide's scarf.

Guider:

You are now a member of the worldwide sisterhood of Guides. Salute the colours.

CLs:

New guides, salute colours.

The new guide at the rightmost end of the row will give the timing "check up, check down" and newly enrolled guides will salute colours. After the new guides salute colours, PLs fall back into the line, with the new guides.

CLs:

Patrol backward turn.

Patrols will turn to face the company. The last PL of the row will give the timing "one check one".

CLs:

Company salute new guides.

FCs will give the timing "check up, check down" and the company will salute the new guides.

CLs:

Patrol, return salute.

The last PL of the row will give the timing "check up, check down" and the patrols return salute.

CLs:

Patrols back to original position, quick march.

Patrols will march back to their original positions. The first person in the row will give the timing "one check one, left, left, left right…" Once back in their original positions, the CLs will call out the PLs and incoming guides of the next 3 patrols to repeat the enrolment of the new guides.

CLs:

Company, dismissed.

The command will be given at the end of the ceremony when all new guides have been enrolled. All guides will then go for a short water break before assembling at the canteen area to proceed on with the day's activities.
