Care for the Elderly Badge Programme
Hello Guides!
Below is the information for the Care for the Elderly Badge Programme.
The Guides Care for the Elderly Badge, in collaboration with TTSH, was launched in Dec 2015.
Through this badge programme, we aim to provide opportunities for Guides to learn about the needs and feelings of the elderly and also understand some of the difficulties faced by them, especially the elderly sick living with illness and frailty.
Patience, kindness, empathy and compassion are some of the values that we hope to share with the Girl Guides in their interaction and care for our elderly. Through these experiences, we hope to show how youths can put their energy, passion, skills and knowledge to do good for the community and make a difference in someone’s life.
Learning Outcomes:
a. Acquire social awareness and apply interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships based on mutual respect
b. Care for others and contribute actively to the progress of our community and nation
Training Schedule for Feb 2017:
If you are interested, please notify us by 11 January and we will forward you the registration form as well as the detailed requirements to earn the badge. All guides free on the above dates are encouraged to take part! Only 50 participants (in the whole of GGS) will be accepted on a first-come-first-basis so do sign up early.
Cheers,
CLs and ACLs '17
