Theme: GGS
Commemorates SG50 : Celebrating our Roots
1.
Captain’s Ball
Objective/Aim:
To promote team bonding and sportsmanship
among girls through Captain’s Ball.
Description:
A guide from each team will be placed on a
chair. Each team is to score as many goals against the other team as possible
in the 5 minutes of games. Schedule will be given and teams are to report at
the time given to play against other teams.
Judging
Criteria:
Through rounds of elimination of 5 minutes
per round, top 3 prizes will be given for guides and brownies.
Duration:
5 minutes per round

● 7 brownies/guides per team. One team per
company or pack.
● To accept 6 teams of brownies and 12 teams
of guides. (First Registered First

2.
Using
recycled materials to make traditional costumes and do a catwalk
Objective/Aim:
To enable Brownies/Girl Guides to be creative
in designing using given materials and do a simple catwalk with the outfit.
Description:
Each group needs to
design an outfit (traditional costume) using given materials and dress up one
of their members as their model. After dressing up the model, the model will do
a catwalk with a given piece of music. The catwalk should be vary according to
the music. Teams that do not follow the requirements will be disqualified. All craft pieces will be collected and judged
and the winner will be announced at the end of the day. Guides/Brownies are not allowed to pre-design
any part of the outfit.

– Vision board for Singapore
Objective/Aim:
Using scrap booking materials, students will
design a vision board to illustrate their hopes and dreams for Singapore to
commemorate SG50
Description:
Students will create an A3 size vision board
that represents their hopes and dreams for Singapore.
They will be provided with an A3 size board
and they may make use of recyclable materials such as newspaper and magazine
cuttings and also coloured paper to create their board.
Judging criteria: Refer to the attached rubrics.

4. Let’s get Crafty! competition
Objective/Aim:
To create
opportunities for Brownies and Guides to bond with their fellow Brownies or
Guides to forge closer ties through working together in a craft competition.
Description:
A total of 5
Brownies/Guides per pack/unit.
Using their
creativity, the team must make use of all the materials in the mystery pack to
create a product to suit the theme that will be provided on the actual day.
The team will
then do a presentation for 10 minutes on their final product they had created

Logistics/ Materials required:
- For participating schools, please bring along a) UHU Glue, b) Scotch
Tape, c) Double Sided Tape, d) Scissors, e) markers/crayons
- Each brownie team will be given a pack of mystery pack. They are to
use all the materials in the
mystery pack to make into a useful article. (No additional
materials brought by the participating team must be used during the making
of the product.)
Duration: 50 minutes to complete the
product and 10 minutes to do a presentation on the finished product

5. Win, Lose,
or Draw (SG 50 version)
Objective/Aim:
To provide an opportunity for brownies/guides to develop their creativity
by using their drawing skills to communicate with their team mates.
To create
opportunities for Brownies and Guides to bond with each other through working
together.
Description:
Each team to will be given 4 minutes to play
the game. The team members will have to guess a phrase, title or thing related
to SG50 that one teammate is drawing on the whiteboard with markers.
The drawer cannot speak about the subject in
his or her drawing. Usage of letters, numbers, or symbols is also not allowed.
If one of these illegal clues is used, the
point for the question will not be counted in.
However, if a non-drawing team member mentioned
a word that was part of the answer, their teammate at the whiteboard is then
allowed to write it down.
Judging criteria: The team with the highest point will win the
game. 1 point for each phrase, title or thing guessed correctly.

6. Quiz Gameshow style
Objective/Aim:
To enable Brownies/Girl Guides to learn more
about Singapore and be more aware of WAGGS.
To test the general knowledge of our
Brownies/Girl Guides.
Description:
·
Each
school will have to send 4 students
(2 guides/brownies to participate in the game; 2 to act as helplines)
·
10
categories (E.g. Singapore History/Places of interest/Famous Forefathers in
Singapore etc.) will be projected on the screen with varying levels of
difficulty. (The levels of difficulty and the points rewarded and deducted will projected as well so
that the teams can challenge themselves and gain more points or lose points if they
answer incorrectly)
·
Each
team will get to choose a category and answer the question in that category.
Each team will take turns to do so. (the order of teams will be selected by a
randomized machine)
·
If
answered correctly, the relevant points will be awarded. If answered wrongly,
the question will be directed to the other teams.
·
When
answered, that category will not be available anymore.
·
Guides/brownies
can use the 1 helpline throughout the competition.
·
Duration:
15-20 mins
Judging criteria:
- Points are awarded according to level of difficulty. Hence the teams
that answer the more challenging questions, they will get to accumulate
more points.
- Marks will be deducted as well for some of the challenging questions
if answered incorrectly. (These will be projected with the various
categories so the guides/brownies will have to choose the categories
carefully.)

Scoring boards, Laptops (to screen the questions)
Duration: 15-20 minutes

8. Brownies / Guides
Mini Amazing Race
Instructions:
- Brownies
and guides form groups of 5.
- They
will be given a clue to the station. They must solve the clue to identify
the station. At the station, complete the assigned task. Upon completing
the task, they must go back to the Command Station. *Participants will be
informed of its location.
- Verify
the answers at the Command Station and then get the clue to the next
station.
- Winners
are decided based on the first three groups that can complete the most
stations in the fastest time.
