The boots will cost $26. Please bring the exact amount to school and pass them to Chief FC, Shi Le (Class 401 [first floor of Science Block]) by Wednesday recess. If you are unable to bring the amount by Wednesday, please inform your PL as soon as possible.

TDP Practice Videos

Dear Guides,

Attached in this post are videos of our practice from Tuesday full-uniform rehearsal. Looking back, it was really quite impressive and I shall explain further how we can improve:

Squad 1:

Squad 2:

As we can see from both videos, it is impressive because nobody had the issue of wrong arm to wrong leg (i.e. everyone lifted the same arm and put the same foot forward along with the drum beat).

Therefore, I do indeed hope that everyone will improve on this.

Note:

  • CHECK YOUR DRESSING AT ALL TIMES
remember, at all times, the most important thing is to look in sync with your row, and ultimately with your squad. Make sure you are in A STRAIGHT LINE, check left and right at all times, and EVERYONE SHOULD BE CONSCIOUS OF THEIR DRESSING AT ALL TIMES

  • JERK YOUR ARMS UP TO 90 DEGREES, AND MAKE SURE YOUR ARMS ARE STRAIGHT
I cannot emphasise this enough, but on the actual day there won't be any FCs to nag and remind you while you are marching. Once again, EVERYONE SHOULD BE SELF-CONSCIOUS AT ALL TIMES. As you can see from the videos it is grotesque to see that while the arms you're lifting is correct, the arm comes up with jelly-like limpness and a huge hint of "I don't care". You have to care.

Other usual stuff:

  • Lift your legs up to 90 degrees and bang hard
if you're not sure, check in the mirror. your heel should be parallel to your body.

  • NO SHUFFLING (on the march and for stationary drills)
  • JERK YOUR ARMS UP AND DOWN for marching and stationary actions (pledge, renewal of guide promise, ke kenan lurus)
I need everyone to take this seriously. Parade is on Tuesday, 25/2. We only have one-chance at TDP 2014. Let us make it happen, because we can.
